Meet Kelsey
Hi, I’m Kelsey Schaefer — a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #102609) based in Los Angeles. I specialize in working with pregnant and postpartum women, offering both virtual and in-person therapy in Beverly Hills and West LA.
My journey into maternal mental health began long before becoming a mom myself — but everything changed after my own experience with pregnancy, birth, and matrescence. I’ve since dedicated my work to supporting women through the tender, challenging, and transformative stages of motherhood.
With over a decade of experience in mental health, I bring a background in crisis intervention, adolescent care, and high-acuity treatment — skills that now inform my calm, compassionate, and grounded approach to perinatal therapy. I’m trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and currently pursuing certifications in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C), Lamaze Childbirth Education (LCCE), and birth doula support through DONA International.
What sets me apart is my unique blend of clinical training and deep passion for birth work. I believe therapy should be a safe, collaborative space — especially for moms navigating identity shifts, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and everything in between.
I live in LA with my husband, our two little ones, and our Aussie pup, Leo. When I’m not in session, you can find me practicing yoga, planning our next home renovation, or whipping something up in the kitchen.
